Our good friends at the
Sacramento
Press were kind enough to grant us access in to Arco
Arena before the Kings' final pre-season game of 2009. We
got a goodie bag of stuff, a tour of the arena, $25 for
food, and some pretty good seats for the game. The tour was
pretty interesting - here's what's in the Arco Arena you
never see. |
|

The press room. The NBA requires that teams feed the press
before the game. |

The players cars, parked inside the arena.
|

New backboards, ready for the first game. |
|

Gary Gerould on his blackberry. The security guard is
guarding the Kings' locker room, we weren't allowed in. |

Slamson's cage

This was interesting...
"Clown Alley". This tunnel led to the half-built baseball
stadium that never was. When the circus is in town, the
clowns use this area for getting ready, and it's now known
as the "Clown Cave". Inside are all sorts of stuff they left
behind. Not sure they knew it would eventually end up on the
internet! |

Tyreke Evans on one of the new billboards that is being
painted. I think they said this was going up on Fulton. |

Closup on a lion for the billboard.

Slamson. |

The Arco kitchen.

The dance team came out and signed some calendars. This was
awkward... They were signing all these half-naked shots of
them and we were all trying to make conversation. What the
heck do you say? "Wow, nice rack!" Um, no. |
